This Four Seasons of the Meditations with the Native American Elders, provides 365 quotations, prayers and teachings to help you maintain and nourish your Wellbriety Journey. This daily meditation book includes teachings from Elders of many tribes, from all across the Americas. These are designed to help us reflect and pray about what our intent is for each day. The book is divided into 4 sections (spring, summer, fall, and winter). Each page includes a teaching from an Elder and a prayer for the day. There is space to make a note of what your focus will be for the day.
“Our thinking is an accumulation of beliefs, habits, attitudes, and expectations that we acquire during our growing up. Therefore, the results of our lives are caused by ourselves and the beliefs we have.
There are two types of will that drive the human being—God’s will and our self-will. Throughout the Meditation Book, the Elders always suggest that we turn our will and our lives over to the care of the Creator. By doing this, we start to transform our being.” (p. viii)
Since this book first appeared in the 1990s, it has inspired thousands and thousands of people all over the world. We have received emails from so many who have told us how much these meditations have help helped them enrich their own journey on the Red Road. It combines traditional spiritual teachings with practical recovery concepts. Through this book of teachings and reflections, each person can learn to grow in harmony with their own seasons. Individuals will find messages to help them reclaim parts of their identity that have been hidden by unhealthy habits or beliefs. The teachings will help people let go of those things that are unhelpful and replace them with spiritual principles, laws, and values that will bring a new harmony and peace to their lives.
NOTE: Meditations with the Native American Elders is also available in Spanish. There is one volume for each of the seasons (spring, summer, fall, winter).
